The 2011 Dodge Caliber.

Electric Vehicles: The Future of Volkswagen

If you had a goal of becoming the best of the best by 2018, then you would probably be pulling out all of your technological tricks as well.  Nope, we aren't talking about Acura Burke, but we are talking about German made Volkswagen.  The newest vehicle class to take the world by storm are the electric vehicles.  While hybrids are still a great alternative to traditional gasoline vehicles, even American made Bethesda Chevrolet knew there was money to be made in the electric vehicle business.  There is no sense ignoring our future!  Volkswagen hopes to have their new concept car, Golf blue-e-motion, in production by 2013; this gives Arlington Hyundai some time to upgrade their current vehicle line up. 

Volkswagen has announced their global plan to start producing their own electric powertrains, and the Golf will be the first guinea pig model.  The Golf is already one of Volkswagen's most popular models so it makes perfect sense to be the introductory platform for electric vehicle technology.  Consumers are still a little unsure about the entire concept of electric vehicles, but by 2013 when we actually see the Golf blue-e-motion sitting at dealerships, perhaps Americans will be more accepting of the eco-friendly idea. 

Drivers of the Golf blue-e-motion will enjoy all the perks of having a completely electric vehicle free of polluting emissions.  They will get 115 horsepower and 200 pound feet of torque, which is plenty for a compact car.  Volkswagen is estimating that you can get up to 94 miles range per charge, and like all vehicles and mileage estimates, those numbers will vary with your specific driving habits.  The Golf blue-e-motion uses a 26.5 kilowatt-hour lithium ion battery.  It is always exciting when a concept car makes it into the world of production reality, and VW hopes to have about 500 produced by next year for testing purposes.

Lexus CT 200h: Luxury Hybrid Done Right!

Under the hood you will find a 1.8 liter four cylinder engine that puts out 98 horsepower.  The hybrid components include a 650 volt battery that makes 36 horsepower; all in all, the CT offers 134 horsepower.  This is the same engine configuration you see in the Prius, but what sets this hybrid apart from the rest of the pack is its finely tuned handling.  You have the option of driving in normal, sport, or eco modes.  The quiet purr of the electric components is much easier to ignore when you actually enjoy driving your vehicle, and we guarantee this hybrid drives better than the rest of them out there.

All New 2011 Ford F350

The Ford F-350 at Ford Lakeside, might be what some would say an expensive truck, but it compares in price to the Honda Ridge Liner. This F-350 comes with two available engine options. You can choose from either the 316 horsepower, 6.2 liter v-8, or the 400 horsepower, 6.7 liter v-8 diesel. If improved with hydraulic body mounts, the ride quality in the crew cab and extended cab models would have much better quality ratings. The Ford F-350 is the third version of Fords heavy duty pick-up trucks in the last four years and the second version since Ford reworked the truck for the 2008 model year. There are many different things that you should look for in buying a new vehicle. My main two things that I like to check out are the safety features and the reliability of a vehicle. Most vehicles, like the ones sold at Volkswagen Phoenix Dealers and Chevrolet Dealer Dayton, have many safety features. Even some used cars, which could be found at Bradenton Cars For Sale, carry some/most of these safety features. Ones to look for are;

*Driver and Front Passenger Airbags-They provide effective protection for the head and upper torso area preventing contact with the steering wheel and dash.

*Driver and Passenger Side Airbags-These are designed to help protect your head and chest in a crash involving the side of the vehicle.

*Side Curtain Airbags-These are used to protect your head from hitting the window or frame pillar in a side impact collision.

Now a more pricier vehicle, lets say a Cadillac, they will offer a more elaborate variety of warranties. I know on the 2011 Cadillac CTS, they offer four year/50,000 mile basic warranty , five year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty along with roadside assistance. They have a Premium Care Maintenance package that will cover scheduled oil changes, tire rotations, replacement of engine and cabin air filters along with a multi-point vehicle inspection after 4 years of 50,000 miles. Which all of that is wonderful if you can afford it.

It isn't easy to pick out a new car that will suit you in every way, but these are just a few things that you should check out before making that big purchase.

Nissan and Ford aren't the only ones who are releasing their cars with the all-new technology, the company Fiat also has introduced and installed the Fiat's Blue & Me technology. Chrysler Offers Pentastar Engine with Variety of Displacements;

The new Chrysler Pentastar engine will be offered in a wide range of displacements. The new engine technology will be featured on several different Chrysler models. EPA Wants Higher Ethanol Percentages

HUD; The Newest Technology For Safe Driving.

GM has came up with a new way to insure the safety of their drivers. It is called HUD, Heads Up Display. This technology uses an array of vehicle sensors and cameras to gather data and project images onto the windshields of vehicles. This system will also highlight the lines on the roads if it happens to be foggy outside or in case of severe weather and visibility is limited. The Heads Up system can also identify and highlight animals and people that are on the side of the road.

This type of technology has not been introduced to Peoria Volkswagen, but has been installed into the new Corvette's available at Detroit Chevrolet. Bradenton Auto Body is gearing up to be able to install this new technology into some vehicles.


The vehicles that currently carry this technology are GMC Acadia; Chevrolet Corvettes; Buick Lacrosse and the Cadillac STS. This technology is comprised of a combiner, a project unit and a video generation computer. "Combine" is the surface to which the data is projected and located in front of the driver. It can take on either a concave or flat shape and has a special coating which reflects monochromatic light from the projector unit while allowing all the other wave lengths of light to go through. This creates a fluorescent image of high visibility that overlaps the drivers real view. The "Projector Unit" uses one of three types of light emitting sources to project the image, as stated on Autoevolution.com.

The projected images the driver will be able to see are the speedometer, tachometer and the navigation system. GM is currently working on an upgraded HUD system to where the entire windshield will be able to assist the driver.

Volvo's Body Panel Battery Research

The future holds great things and it is even more exciting to watch as ideas come into fruition.  Currently, Volvo is working on a project to help turn the car body panels into energy storage devices so that there would not be a need for gasoline or heavy lithium ion battery packs.  This technology is still a few years away from mass production, so in the mean time you might want to check out bad credit auto loan Arlington to help get yourself into a new vehicle.  But if things go well over in the European Union where all the research is taking place, we will see the new cars arriving on St. Lucie Freightliner trucks sooner rather than later.

2011 Kia Sorento.

If you are in the market for a new SUV, there are plenty of options available right now.  The CR-V from Honda Alexandria is incredibly popular and recently underwent a redesign.  The Equinox from Chevrolet Lakewood offers great features and impressive fuel economy, and if you need more space the Traverse is pretty much its bigger sister.  One affordable option is the new and improved 2011 Kia Sorento.  There are tons of features and upgrades you can choose from, and the new exterior design is gaining popularity by the day.

Should We Mention The Single Pedal Design Again?

The single pedal designed has been around for more than two decades. The inventor himself, Masuyuki Naruse has argued the two pedal is a design flaw. "We have a tendency to stomp down when we panic" said the inventor. He designed this break pedal to help and prevent unintended acceleration. This single pedal would be an answer to the problem but automakers and consumers are leery. Some consumers do not like change and automakers do not want to insist that it goes in during assembly with consumers unsure of it. The pedal itself has come to the attention of executives with Toyota being under the spotlight with their troubles. Toyota has been effected greatly by their acceleration problems and Bradenton Chevrolet are fully taking advantage of it all.

This one pedal design is just like the brake pedal but has a thin piece to the side. That piece pushes outward to accelerate your vehicle. Subaru and Toyota Team Up.

Don't expect to see this car driving around your neighborhood anytime soon!  Anticipated release dates are as generic as 2012 or 2013, and engineers are still busy trying to make this concept car vision a practical reality.  The car will be available as a Toyota or a Subaru, and some auto experts predict that the all wheel drive option will have to be Subaru.

Lincoln Branding is at Top of Ford's Priority List;
